Don’t know about 12V but all the high voltage connectors when converting a car to electric drive get crimped and if screwed in a plug a crimped sleeve gets added.

You don't count, as you know what your doing. Have seen some really poor crimped connectors. The kind you buy at the cheap place with a cheap tool that leaves a crimped connecter that can easily pulled off.
What about inside car/motorbike alternators, inside car/motorbike starter motors and certain car/motorbike battery cabling?
What would you prefer to see scotch locks or soldered joints with proper heat shrunk covers.
