Used them twice with success. The glue gives off a very strong smell. Enjoy!

My IRC Formula Pro tyres are not feeling the love from being garaged away for the best part of 24 months. In that time, has there been a new tyre to market that's better than that (pls don't say Schwalbe Pro S)?

Mounted some Goodyear Eagle F1 Tubeless tyres last night. I had heard they were easy seat and set up so I tried to get them set up with a mini pump, worked a treat. Ridiculously easy to install and pinged onto the rims at about 30 psi. They come up true to size so are considerably smaller than the Michelin Power Tubeless (best tyres I've used but OOS everywhere) they're replacing. I'll be interested to see how they hold up compared to the Michelins as they feel noticeably lighter. I got around 4500-5000 miles out of my Michelins through winter and commuting with zero punctures.

Did half the SDW route yesterday with someone running tubeless on tan walls; managed 35km until they suffered the same issue I had, a tear in the sidewall which wouldn't seal. Ended up tubing it obvs.
Wondering if tubeless tan walls are generally just a nightmare. Think they were also using shit sealant though.

dont get anything in tan wall
bin everything you have and buy schwalbe

Schwalbe go slide.

Tan sidewalls for tubeless are silly. Schwalble are shit.

I've been using several variants of tan wall WTB tires for thousands of miles, not any better or worse than black tires. The coating on black sidewalls its pretty much nothing, anything that ripped the fabric would've gone trough a 0.1mm coat of rubber.

The tanwall on some tubeless tyres is just tan-coloured rubber instead of black, though.

And on the case of WTB tyres it's not even tan. It's a kind of brown colour. Still think it looks well kewl though.

Vittoria TNT FTW
Really is the best imo

Not as supple as the trendy brands but fast enough, go up well, grippy, reliable and a good range of tread patterns for mixed/off-road use. I am a big fan(boi)

i might but just on MTB, how bad are the nettles? I am roadie-ing till their sting is a little subdued. Hairy legs just 'catch' them and give me a post onset burn!

I put 38c Terreno Mix's (tubed because I'm smart) on for SDW, and if it wasn't for the slop at the beginning I would say I was arguably over rubbered.

• #4624
Tubes for SDW. You crazy.
-
• #4625
no hard points for saying 38mm is right for the SDW, some people like to enjoy it
Not used them yet but heard good reviews about them, and they go inside the tyre.
