Those dropouts are asking for fixed or hub gear.

Thanks, that's the way I'm leaning as well: there's a 6-bolt disc cog (16T) burning a hole in my parts bin. Just need to decide on everything else now: wheels (probably a waste of time converting to 700c), tyres (massive slicks methinks), chainset (42T too low for road?), handlebars (alts/drops?)...

(16T)...(42T too low for road?)
68" with 26" tyres, I'd call that a tad high for a pub bike but not by enough to make changing worthwhile if you already have the 42T ring. I'd probably aim get a 40T otherwise.

Thanks, I don't already have the chainring so I'll keep that in mind and see what's available

New seatpost (ti American classic) and open pro wheels for my cannondale, I guess it won't evolve much now. I just need to find a thinner seatpost clamp and I'm done

Lovely! Always had a soft spot for oldschool cannon dales

• #128933
Fantastic. Is the stem also Ti?
-
• #128934
I wish it was but no it's a tig welded steel stem

Cool build. I like the little flash of silver on the crank and mech, and the simplicity of it all. Classy.

Thanks. Just replaced the grips with ESIs so I’m now only a Thomson post away from being able to post it in the wanker bikes thread.

735km and 12000 meters of elevation later.
The only thing I didn’t use of what I brought was the multitool and spare inner tube. Great trip.

Very nice. Are you going to post some pictures/words of the trip? Would like to see it!

That's what bikes should look like :)

Rushed putting this together over the last couple of days, in preparation for a 165mile cycle this week. Not the best idea not being able to give it a proper test ride but fingers crossed it all holds up.
Gears a slipping, annoyingly. I’ve got a feeling it’s to do with the indexing rather than a worn cassette.. gunna have another crack at sorting it today by aligning the derailleur hanger... failing that will be hunting around for a 9 speed cassette in desperation 😅. Or I’ll put a friction shifter and any old shimano cassette on it :)

Is sticker bombing frames too 2011? I feel like my bike is too bland, it's getting very boring to look at. Any low cost suggestions to make it less boring? Maybe a splatter paint job, I guess that's easy and cheap enough, right? But what colour?
And yes I know, that crankset. I'm keeping an eye on it

Looks like the eyelets I had added line up pretty well.
This bike looks better as a tourer!

Super fresh that

Yeah that's all kinds of rad.

Bought this on a whim. Ticked a few boxes with the elevated chainstay and all.
Need to figure out what to do with it now. Considering electrification.

Mad/rad!
Splurged £5 on this gas pipe frame for a rainy day rat bike project. Haven't decided exactly what kind of frankenbike to make yet. Disc-cog fixed 26er? Sub-wanker 1× hybrid?
Ideas and suggestions welcome
