  • I’m riding 25c GP4 seasons. If I want to do longer road rides/audax, is there a better choice. Obviously I want comfort, low rolling resistance, puncture protection and good grip. But obviously that’s not the most realistic thing to ask for.

What’s the usual choice for these things?

  • Is 25 the largest your frame can take?

    You forgot 'cheap'...

  • Tubes or notubes?

Personally I’d go for 28-30 mm for that kind of use. With tubes Michelin Power Endurance is good.

There are lots of faster options for summer/speed/thefeels

  • Michelin Pro4 Endurance if you can find them.

I also had a great summer riding with a set of those cheap Jack Brown Mile Munchers off Planet X. Replaced them after 7000km with only one visitation from the puncture fairy (a drawing pin, no less!) but unfortunately the following set seemed to be a puncture magnet. Given how cheap they are I'd be tempted to try them again, though.

  • Yeah, bigger volume for starters. 28mm or 32mm GP5000 would be super fast, 28mm Pro Endurance are more durable.
