Advice needed please.
I'm going to a wedding this August. Very low key. No church or venue. We are witnessing the town hall legal bit then a few drinks and a meal at a nice restaurant.
I have no smart clothes or shoes. In the past I would have worn some old mod stuff but Fred Perry's (and I have a skinhead) seem to be a right wing uniform these days.
Was thinking a linen suit as it proba going to be warm with a t shirt and running shoes but I have no idea. Happy to take any suggestions please. -

Sounds like you're on the right track. I'd go linen suit, clean smart sneakers (converse, jack purcell, etc) and upgrade the tee to a granddad shirt. Casual and comfy but smart enough and you can get more casual use out of everything

I’d head to Uniqlo and grab a navy linen jacket and shirt, grey/black jeans and then invest in some proper leather shoes - maybe some dark brown suede… or Clark’s desert boots, or sanders creepers… trainers won’t age well in the photographs imho
- I’ve tried to find decent linen suits off the peg but good ones are spendy and cheap ones are naff (based on cut/fit)… another shoe option would be some drakes suede chukkas…

Tbh I think this look sounds quite a vibe. I’m thinking classic fit suit and new balance/hoka kinda trainers

Do it. These shoes are absolutely gorgeous and you're supporting true craftsmen and women who have been making traditional moccasins for their entire life. These are the real deal. They're expensive for a reason and I am totally not biased (-:
Just order them on a credit card from somewhere with a good returns policy if at all possible. I find that Yuketen are more or less bang on my Brannock size, however any of their shoes made with a moccasin construction will stretch in the toe box, so be aware of that. I am a US 10.5 2E on a Brannock and I wear a US 10E Yuketen moccasin, due to stretch.

Back in UK now down in West Country. Will have. A look online there might be a stockist in Bristol

Don't think so. Clutch, Bureau, Epitome and Kafka are the only stockists nowadays AFAIK.

Speaking of Yuketen, 60% off RRP for these grippy penny loafers has me chin stroking, normal sizes left for a change too… https://www.mrporter.com/mens/product/3983529959609370

I don't know anything about Aldens but Classic Shoe Repairs on breckmock road is often quoted for high end shoes.
Closer to home, might be worth having a chat with E17 Cobbler. He is a proper craftsman and you can chat about what you want. He was happy to order in Vibram soles for my Red Wings, for example.

Apologies for the slight thread derail.
Current options are:
Khaki Reiss suit:

Looking round at secondhand shoes what style smart leather shoes could I wear with either of these if I don't go with running shoes?

The cos suit, white linen shirt, no tie and black loake oxfords you can use for funerals/court appearances when you get older.

For the money something from marks and Spencer is a better bet - fashion suits from Reiss and Cos will fall apart very quickly…
Ive been wearing my yuketens more than any other shoe
