Packing tape on frame

  • Moved my TCR 2020 back to Australia and when i was taking it out of the box some of the brown packing tape i used to secure the bubblewrap has got on the frame left quite a bit of residue. Any suggestions to getting it off? WD40?

  • Recently I used acetone free brake cleaner and afterwards kind of WD40.

  • Isopropyl alcohol

  • Eucalyptus oil is great at removing sticky residue without buggering the paint

    and

    Ecalyptus oil

… seems like a good synergy

  • Lighter Fluid. I use it to clean bottles, expensive watches etc for photo shoots.

  • Muc-off make a glue/sealant remover, it’s really effective.

    62% off at £3, that’s cheaper than trade…

  • And added, thank you.

My go to strategy, in successive steps assuming the 1st doesn’t work: muc off > dish soap > isopropyl alcohol > clean cooking oil. Gets most things out cleanly and without damaging surfaces.
