  • Youtube comments. Youtube is becoming more and more a festering ground for extremism. It's unbelievable how after years of this it is still not moderated properly. It is genuinely worse than 4chan. You can't watch a video, no matter the subject, without it having at least a comment with hundreds of likes of someone being blatantly racist. There is no absolutely no way this isn't organised propaganda.

  • Google did this. It turned out that the algorithms introduced to drive up engagement radicalised a lot of people. The algorithms rewarded the content that generated the fastest clicks and this turned out to be the most extreme content that generated outrage. It became like an online Venus Flytrap where somebody following a link to something odd put them on increasingly vertical slope to the worst content.

    It isn't organised propaganda, it's an algorithmically generated cesspool. It wasn't intended, but when it became clear this was where it was going Google/Youtube management did nothing because it makes them money.
