Dogs have strong "den" desire/instinct. We found it helped to put a blanket over Otto's crate to make it feel more snug and safe.

Thanks, a fair idea. It's quite warm here 29C so he might get hot. Also if he can't see us he gets noisy. But worth trying at some point

We put a light blanket over Odie at night but that’s mainly so he can’t see cats and foxes through the kitchen doors. He seems to be able to hear them just fine, still though!
