I'll need some mudguards for my Genesis Day One.
Bike will be doing a mixture of on and off road duties through Autumn / Winter so need to be pretty rugged and it would be nice if they were quick to take on and off.
I'm running mini Vs with whatever the biggest tyres I can fit with the guards so might need to hack them a bit too.
What do people recommend?
I know a lot of people seem to hate them but I had nothing but praise for Crud MK3 on a winter trainer previously. Never tried them off road tho.
Could go minimal with a one of these and one of those plastic in the saddle rail jobbies. https://www.wiggle.co.uk/zefal-croozer-road-front-mudguard-1
Those downtube front mudguards are maybe 5% better than not having any front mudguard at all. But maybe good for your intended purpose. ‘Quick to remove’ kind of eliminates most mudguards that are actually effective though right?
Yes agreed. I'll probs go full bolted guards at some point in winter for solely road riding.
Maybe I should amend 'quick to remove' to 'doesnt rattle around/ fall apart off road'.
