Crate training involves a few months of effort teaching the puppy to love their crate. Starting off with letting them go in to find super high value treats without closing the door for example. When you do close the door it's only for s few seconds at first...building up to a few minutes over a week or two. I think it took about six months before we were happy to crate otto for an hour during the day. If you do it right, the puppy never gets to dislike being in there as it's all at their own pace. It's something they learn to love rather than dislike less.
