That's quite a good result though!
The dog we previously looked after quite a lot before we got our own was allowed to sleep on the bed at "home" but he was a huge pain at ours trying to do the same.
We ended up getting terrible sleep for a couple of nights but we got him to sleep in his own bed in the same room as us eventually. He would occasionally sneak onto the bed at 5am still though
Tried the crate with Scotty, initially downstairs with one of us nearby, then when that wasn't working, upstairs at night, which he also hated, just never liked being in a cage. I'm sure the long trip in a small one from Romania didn't help, dunno if there were more in his life before that. He now sleeps in our room but not in our bed, has his own on the floor, sometimes he'll be on my side of the bed when I come to sleep but promptly fucks off and stays off when I prod him, quite nice in winter, especially if he's not drifted too close to the pillow.
