So glad to hear she's making a good recovery.
When Otto had ~40 internal and external sutures complete with chest drain we were amazed at how well he healed up. Barely a scar now. As you hint, its the non physical side of things that is the longer term worry. Sounds like you're doing the right things. Hope it continues to go well.
3 weeks on from the attack on our border terrier (p. 118) and I'm happy to report she's making a remarkable recovery. Wound is healing nicely and in general she's back to her old self although she is (understandably) much more barky at perceived danger (people shouting in the street and sometimes random passers-by when out walking). We're just monitoring this at the moment- mainly because behaviouralists are about £500 for a couple of sessions.
The police haven't been great. Its taken many people emailing (and an official complaint) to get them to link this attack with two other attacks involving the same dog and owner (both of whichhad been reported when theyhappened). The last I heard from the police was that the offending dog was with the dog unit awaiting their decision - that was almost 2 weeks ago...
