I would use an offline app such as OSMAND, load the gpx files into it and then you can get directions without needing mobile data only a gps signal.
Offline meaning that you download the maps of the area that you need.
You can use it in dumb mode where it shows your position and the gpx track on a map, this is more battery friendly
or actively giving directions
Hi Garmin fans, I have some very basic questions. Hopefully this is the right place to ask.
I'm going away cycling for a couple of weeks and spent part of the weekend creating some fun-looking routes on Strava. Never done this before, and now unclear how to actually follow them.
From reading this thread, it seems like Ride With GPS is good for this, although I am aware that Strava has a navigation feature (very little on their site about this. Ideally, I would like to be able to easily follow the routes I have made, along with HR/average speed/distance. I have an iPhone, and would prefer not to buy a Garmin etc, but open to that if real benefits.
Is the easiest workflow to download the routes from Strava and use them in Ride With GPS?
Thanks.
