  • That’s a question- what’s the widest tyres people have fit to bullitts with guards?

  • Non electric 1.75" approx. STEPS frame version 2.0 to 2.1" in some tyres. I run a Schwalbe Marathon Supreme in 26 x 2.0" and its tight enough at 85psi, heavy loaded bike + trailer pushing you around can cause frame rub. For lighter duties maybe a little more tyre will fit.

  • Have you tried Source BMX or Winstanleys for stock?

BMX tyres: I had an Odyssey on the front of mine for a bit, which was quite a good match looks-wise with a Halo Twin Rail rear. The quality was shite though, I wouldn’t have another one.

Halo Twin Rail isn’t very popular but I’ve done stacks of miles on mine on two different bikes and they seem to be a good trade-off between knobblies and road tread. Not good on wet mud, but loads of grip on road. Also seem to be quite resistant to being left in the sun, which a lot of tanwalls don’t like.

  • Would anyone be interested in my Bullitt- think we're going to have to look at something
a)electrified and b) more dutch cargo facing in the near future. (fingers crossed).
My wife just can't cope with the same thing that makes me love it (namely the liveliness).

  • a)electrified and b) more dutch cargo facing in the near future. (fingers crossed).

I did both of this, was a little painful; more the 'dutch' position rather than electrifying, I dont blame you.

Urban Arrow if you dont have ramps or stairs.

  • I Dutch'd my buillit by making satori easy up all the way up, positive rise stem and VO klunkers, this means new hoses (the painful bit, esp the front).

  • Would anyone be interested in my Bullitt

Have you got some details on this, I'm kind of in the market.

  • Lizard King, Full XT groupset, Baseboard, dual seat with belts:
£2200 I guess from reading through the thread as a price guide.

  • On a regular non-electric Bullitt:
Super moto 2.4” on the front
Schwalbe marathon dureme 2.0” on the rear.

Mudguard on the front is a challenge, as the clearance is limited near the fork crown and between the tire and the front panel of the cargo area. It works with a steel U shaped mudguard.

  • 3 days on king alfreds way on mine this weekend. Because why not. Kept it in 'lightweight' mode as I didn't need to carry much.

    It handled everything great.

  • How much are these webbing kits? I couldn't work out from pictures how it fits on without just having to weave it yourself. At which point I thought I could probably get 20m of 50mm webbing for about a tenner and do the same myself

    great pics 👍

  • @lowbrows Have you tried a Douze? Similar weight to the Bullitt, but completely neutral handling and a complete joy to ride. We had 3 bikes in our shortlist a few years back - Bullitt, Douze and Bakfiets. The Bullitt got dropped as my wife absolutely hated the handling and refused to ride it, The Bakfiets was just too heavy and slow for me which left the Douze which has been great. London Green Cycles sell them and should have a test bike available. We have a Douze V2 Classic (medium length) but they also do a G4 which I assume should handle the same thanks to same steering system. Check them out and shout if you have any questions.

  • Can’t scroll on the Douze site, weird.

  • I think they're about £50 or something. I'm not looking for any money for it though...it's been sat in a box for over a year. Never used.
It's basically just webbing with buckles on the end. I guess you're paying for the time spent sewing buckles on etc

  • Ok I see. Well if you won't be using it then I'll be happy to take it off your hands. But I'll either give you some money for it or gladly buy a tee or key clip or something if you have anything like that lying about

  • I have the Omnium webbing and I'd recommend just using inner tubes instead. In hot weather the straps get super taut, so much that I've had the poppers (how they're attached underneath) come apart, and in cold weather the webbing is so slack it's almost useless. Pretty sure it's just the cargo area metal expanding/contracting, so not much to do about it. But I haven't read anyone else on the web having this issue so maybe I'm just unlucky.

  • Honestly don't worry about the money. I'd just rather see it being used.
Message me so I can give you my address in Hackney to collect from any evening after 6:30
