  • My little Kind Dick.

I bought a job lot of four, spent and hour or so cleaning up the two best ones for me and my old man, 10 minutes on the other two and sold them for something like £2 less than the 4 cost me.

  • There’s plenty of them on eBay in all sizes for not a lot of money. Might pick one up.

  • The one I have is pretty compact and was bought to be portable, think I’ll pick up a larger one for workshop use.

  • I end up having load.

The HTR one isn't as durable despite feeling great sadly.

  • The biggest problem I found with this is that the clamp is much too wide, which doesn't allow much room to insert in certain components.

  • I see Knipex are bringing out an Pliers Wrench XS

  • King -Dick were quite good quality I’ve got a few. There used to be a DIY shop in Thornton Heath that had a second hand area at the back, plastic crates full of spanner’s you could tip on the floor and sift through.

  • I spent some time tonight whilst watching the fitba laying out the bottom layer of my new toolbox

  • 'Festool' sounds dirty for some reason.
    Grey & Green is nice.

  • I'm in the market for some kind of tool case actually.

  • After seeing the ones posted here so am I!

  • I've been using a tool bag to lug the whole set around which is awkward to carry now that it's getting full. Probably need something kinda large with wheels.

  • Yeah same here.
Is there any sort of go to decent value tool box brand?

Seems you can spend anywhere from £30 to £300

  • The reason I went for Festool is that the size was about what I wanted, they stack really neatly, and compared to for example Pelican cases they're really cheap.

  • Which particular box is that one? Would like to do similar rather than keeping my bleed kits in an oily bag...

    Where is the foam from?

  • Foam is from https://www.shadowfoam.com, the boxes I got are the SYS 3 L 187 and the SYS3 TB L 137 (this is a tote type thing).

  • And now the problem of “where does everything go?”

  • ^The idea is that the stuff I use all the time for fettling is in the tote, whereas the stuff that is needed periodically can go in the box. They both stack, locking to one another, and you can then carry them as a single unit. I'm going to add a storage layer (89mm) to this which will have a lot of spare parts - bearings, brake pads, that sort of thing.

I could do with downsizing my hammer.

  • There's a smaller Park version but it's diddy.

  • Thanks, looks like I can get the L 187 for a very reasonable £45 online.

I'm in the process of giving my garage a new lease of life. Building a new work bench and like the idea of having a shadow tool wall.
But having all of my most used tools in a box makes more sense so I can just put the whole box in the boot when I go riding.

Maybe have a smaller shadow wall for the bigger bits, bearing press etc

  • That’s kind of what I’m doing - tote goes in the boot for going to a trail centre, box+tote goes in the boot for a holiday, and the big presses and so on stay at home in the rolling toolbox.

  • This Anex combination saves you about 7cm. And sorta matches your kit.

  • The 304.1 Looks roughly the same size as the Anex. 304.2 only saves a few cm compared to your Park one, but probably better for bike stuff depending on what you actually do with it. They do look nice.
