Absolutely great attitude towards getting the ball forward and trying the difficult pass, they deserve everything they've got so far

The recovery powers of a goal are amazing.
Mr lineker just pointed out this, but otherwise well played Italy. Spinazzola has been one of my favourite players so far so shame he's injured, possibly bar Daniel James for Wales and obviously Harry Kane. His injury looked really bad as he was stood up asking for a sub until his mate told him to timewaste.

This tournament has brought us some great memories. If you are going to beat the favourites, then you have to play pressing high tempo football with brave accurate passes and blitz type attacking forward play.
Even the defensive tackles and clearances in the six yard box were celebrated like goals. Gutted for Spinazzola if his tournament is now over. Spain should be rightly worried, I hope Italy make it to the final.
And to think that Italy were in mourning for what seemed like a month, three years ago when they failed to qualify for the WC in Russia. But Mancini has brought together a team with a single mind.

Time to start the beers ahead of the inevitable implosion, burgers before as well, which will be nice...

So reports of Sancho to start.
I can understand the approach of being very defensive for 70 minutes then attacking for the last 20 but am struggling with being more attacking from the start but using a player not thought good enough in the previous four matches.
Still, what do I know?

I guess a lot of it depends on who looks best in training when you have so many players that look similar on paper

FIFA predictions in. Denmark take an early lead with the keeper off the line, slotting it through the legs of the last defender. The Czech's get one back against the run of play and have a few more half chances before Denmark get a goal right before half time. The scores stay the same throughout a second half where the spirit of Ericson makes it seem like he's actually on the pitch, willing Denmark to win, especially when he keeps shooting from the edge of the box.

That was more like their second goal.

I've got a bit of a quandary with the next match, I've only played as the"home" team so far, with a bit of a difficulty adjustment based on who they're playing, obviously I'd prefer to play as England but maybe I need to play as Ukraine on a harder difficulty and hope to not win?
-
• #157797
Also there's no actual Ukraine national team as far as I can tell, went Russia last time but open to suggestions for a closer match.

Got the score right, just the order of goals wrong, think I need to start betting.

Gives Austria as the closest match.
(Fun fact: Shevchenko doesn't speak fluent Ukrainian although he is making an effort to learn.)
I'm calling extra time.
