• What a gorgeous guy, but it does make you wonder if we'll just end up with a lot of domesticated foxes all over the place ... then again, if it were possible to domesticate foxes, I'm sure we'd have done that thousands of years ago, so I'd guess they'll only ever be semi-domesticated?

  • Seen one a few weeks ago that I mistook for someone's dog before I properly looked at it - was sitting unfussed amongst half a dozen folk waiting to cross the road, as soon as the crossing started beeping it sauntered across & wandered into the park to dust off some half eaten kebabs & spilled cider - proper big fluffy Disney looking thing, what a life

  • The thought prompted me to look up domestication of foxes, and it turns out that in Russia there's been a project of captive breeding and 'selecting' for tameness since the 1950s, which has indeed resulted in tame foxes. No doubt the seemingly increasing number of people who establish relationships with foxes by feeding them or helping them in other ways do this with those inclined to be tamer than others.
