Do it yourself, or at least design it yourself, from what I have heard from pals who've tried most ground work /garden designer types only want to churn out certain templated designs they have done before.

I need to redesign my front garden in N8.
This will be to remove a hedge, smash up a concrete path, remove a wooden fence, clear the ground
And then to build a nicer path, brick wall, and work with us on the layout and rest of the garden.
Are there any forum recommended garden renovation / builder types for North London?
