After his Epstein Barr diagnosis its arguable he is just back at the level he would have been at without; Petacchi won 4 stages and green jersey at 36 years old. Age and treachery beating youth and talent etc.

He also is back at a team he really seems to love and a new coach who said his training programme with Dimension and Bahrain was problematic.

Lots of experience, excellent lead out men (which he has always thrived on - drop him in the right place and he can finish) , Ewen crashed out.
Pretty amazing still. Last year he was a fat lad virtually retired.

That kinda implies are Cav is the 2nd top sprinter to start this year’s TDF.
