  • i see that mediocre, tedious wetlip from mumfrod and mates is being given a slot on the BBC news rotation where he gets to whine about how he's been bullied off the internet / out of his shite band by far left hate mobs blah fucking blah boo fucking hoo. absolutely no meaningful attempt to point out that the reason he's being called out is because of his trenchant support for a far right activist with ties to white supremacist terrorist organisations, but hey - so long as we all know who the REAL victim is in this scenario.

oh, and apparently his dad stumped up a fat wad for GBN.

  • 13.4% increase in house prices YTD

I feel like my generation is fucked

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57648935

  • Give it a few years, plug into the sim from your cupboard

  • Even on 'ere someone got called out for pointing out that he was more than a wee bit fash this week - 'balance', or summat.

  • if no one stands up for the white supremacist terrorist apologist apologists, then it's like the REAL terrorists have already won.

marshall - huge jordan peterson fan as well by all accounts. so that scans.

music for people that hate music.

  • It's funny I heard about the story just after finishing the you're wrong about: cancel culture

Got to say given the whole saga and who his dad is, my conspiracy brain says it's predominantly a false flag.

  • Massive LinkedIn data leak again

  • it's just the stamp duty holiday being added to people's budgets. Totally artificial but the estate agents pretend it's something else.

  • This stuff isn't readily available info is it? So it's more than just a scrape.

        Email Addresses
        Full names
        Phone numbers
        Physical addresses
        Geolocation records
        LinkedIn username and profile URL
        Personal and professional experience/background
        Genders
Other social media accounts and usernames

  • Yeah, feels slightly alarming that LinkedIn are trying to pass this off as legitimate use of their API.

Actually explains the huge amount of bitcoin scam calls I get on my private number.

  • I think it's a bit more than that. Stamp duty on a Β£300k house is like Β£2.5k. The same house would be selling for Β£340k now. You'd need to have saved another Β£4k (achievable in lockdown) as well an increasing your income by Β£8k (not so easy) to buy it today

  • Agree it's definitely more than that, which is why the stamp holiday now seems such a mistake.

As far as I can see, covid has divided people into those whose businesses have continued quite profitably into WFH world (lots of professional and white collar jobs) and those where business has suffered or been completely furloughed.

That former camp are getting pay rises and are fed up with the same walls they've been staring at and hence there's lots of drive to move, hence big jumps all round. No idea how / if it levels out...

  • Re. LinkedIn, what's 'inferred salary?'

  • It means they guess people's salaries based on industry averages and other data. Not a figure entered by the account holder but one their system has invented and added. Not something the account holder would see, but possibly something recruiters might see if they pay enough, I guess (naughty).

  • I think it's a bit more than that. Stamp duty on a Β£300k house is like Β£2.5k.

We just brought a flat but due to delay, we now have to borrow extra money to pay for stamp duty.

  • Exactly, most of this stuff is available through Recruiter and, I imagine, the corresponding API.

  • Would of posted this in the Covid Thread but it's London's Famous London only...

So if you are 50 or over you might get a booster jab.

Pretty much the way it was going to happen. Despite Government desperate to unlock.

Leeds has a 1 in 75 infection rate in Student areas. Not blaming them, the under 25's haven't had the opportunity to get both shots.

Just that another Summer of mixing just allows another variant to mutate that fucks the current vaccines.

    Meh.

  • shockedpikachu.jpg

  • Brewdog keep on being grifting cunts

  • Fucks sake.

Sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole to work out how much a solid gold 330ml can would weigh. If it was actually solid, i.e no void, it'd weigh 6.4kg!

If they meant a replica coke can made of gold, complete with void, that'd be about 0.5 Troy ounces which is about a grand I think.

To claim that a gold plated can would be worth fifteen grand is laughable.

  • To claim that a gold plated can would be worth fifteen grand is laughable

Didn't Pepsi get away with not giving away a Harrier jump jet because it was 'a joke'? (memory is hazy, but it was probably in the US though, so not relevant here...)

And yes, I agree. It is ridiculous. They are almost going out of their way to show how cunty they can be.

  • Β£15,000 is

β€œreasonable based on multiple factors – including the price we paid for its manufacture, the constituent metal and quality of the final product, the standard retail markup and the rarity and uniqueness of the cans.”

Sounds like they popped it in the classifieds on here...
