That first one you mention sounds really lovely! Haha not sure I would say that after doing it mind you. Sounds vaguely similar to what I have planned for this Saturday for my solstice century. Though I let Komoot do most of the planning based off of a downs link ride to Brighton I found and edited to loop back to London round Horsham.

Compare it to this one. I'm not convinced I've got this right at all yet!

Ooh I shall do just that, my route planning was more of let’s take in as many paths/bridleways that Komoot users had marked as being alright and leave the rest up the the ai so mine could also probably do with some work!

Looking unlikely that I can do this now. All day childcare required.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I’d quite like to join but not sure I fit the demographic being a Lycra clad carbon gravel bike riding something or other

Naaa you can run what you brung. All welcome. I don't know what the pace will be like but I imagine we might naturally break up and regroup.

OK, so I hope you don't mind me suggesting this, but I recently stumbled across this website:
https://sussexbloggers.com/halnaker-windmill-tunnel-of-trees/
It's basically just outside Chichester.Surely that's a good Rough Stuff mission? Figure out a route to get there involving as few roads as possible? Maybe from London, for added daftness.
My first pass at this looks like this: https://cycle.travel/map/journey/233473

I'm very keen, but might be busy and wouldn't want to take a 'maybe' space in the list. Hope I can make it 🤗
If you really want to go mad, I have a 100+ mile ride based off this route, with over 1700m of climbing (probably closer to 2000m). The route then dips down past Horsham (good place for lunch) to join the Downs link and manages to follow it uphill (which is a challenge as it's an old railway line), then comes up and over Leith Hill (off road), crosses the ford at Shere twice (because why not?) and then creeps up and over Epsom downs before joining the river for the run to home. That's a full day of pain and suffering.
You could also go south on the Downs link to Shoreham for a day by the Seaside as well for a much less challenging ride.
