    Or just having a really good public transport system. Cycliste spent 15 years in Switzerland without a car and, thanks to the fantastic public transport system over there, never needed one. She only bought one due to Covid and no longer wanting to take trains.

    In terms of boiling the frog, I think you already have that. My folks have had the parking on their street halved so it's only on the opposite side. It's a real fucker and has rendered the lamp post EV chargers useless.

    But it has created dedicated segregated cycling lanes. And car ownership in the area has been decreasing anyway. When I was a kid getting spots was a fight. Most families had at least 2 cars. Before the bay removal I can't remember there being less than 3 spare spots when I've visited.
