oh dear, so we are heading to a 50th birthday bash on Saturday evening, i'm happy to miss the QF but the birthday girl is livid, doesn't have a TV, forked out a fortune on food and drink, fears that the blokes wont come unless the footie is on..

i replied, you have two choices
1. radio rentals for the day
2. send the blokes to local pub for 90-120mins plus penalties let's call it 2hrs..

This will be her 50th birthday, and will have a 51st next year.
Lots of opportunities for parties.

This will be England's 3rd QF in the European champs, in the same time frame.
Not really comparable.

Who organises a birthday bash during a major sporting tournament and gets pissy that guests might want to enjoy something that happens (on average) once every 17 years, rather than something that happens (on average) once every July?

(I am trolling and not being serious)

To be fair to her mum and dad, they ensured her birthday was in yentzing season and should miss most major important sporting events, other than international bloody football.
