Not sure I agree with him. I was on the receiving end of a couple of those back in the day (ankle and knee ligament damage, but not destroyed ACLs or anything like that) which were ok tackles I had no reason to complain about, but today the rules have changed and you have more responsibility for what happens after you take the ball. Red is what I'd expect in today's game.
Also, how'd he miss that?
