FIFA predictions in, very predictable. Shocking first half with some pointless last ditch defending, no idea how it ended up at 0-0, very lucky. Southgate must've said something wonderful at half time, Harry Kane finally came good and got a goal at fifty something minutes and we looked alright for a while, the Germans got back in it from a corner and I thought it was over until a lovely through ball got Foden (Gareth's team selection is not the same as FIFA's) from midfield on the end and a beautiful curling finish left Wembley with no social distancing in place. I thought we had it but a classic England scrappy last 5 minutes let the Germans back in. Extra time was tense but no further goals led to dreaded penalties where my daughter's lack of understanding of the game mechanics meant 3 Southgatesk sky balls and a German win. I'm knackered.
