• Yep - the risk with used Mtb is largely fork related - if they are borked, buying new replacements is going to be £££ and buying a used replacement is going to be gambling again. If they need a full service, its going to be around £150 form somewhere like TF tuned.

    If it all works as it should, around a grand would still be a good price IMO. Finishing kit is pretty low end. Bit odd he hasn't put the cranks on...I'd maybe ask about that and whether the BB is ok. You'll need to spend £150ish on a dropper (this bike makes zero sense without one), plus the mech and chain - So at least another £200 to get it rolling properly.

  • Thanks for being the voice of reason. I had wondered why cranks and pedals aren't fitted if they are included as described. I've asked a few questions and the short reply hasn't instilled much confidence, I'm a believer in 'buy' the seller, as well as what they're selling. Thanks for all the help
