She also wore mismatching shoes on election day.
Something that stays with me as at the time I spent a good hour arguing with colleagues over it being photoshopped. I absolutely would not believe that anyone could be that thoughtless.
Fwiw I think there's a huge amount of prejudice and disproportionate bullying directed at her. There is an irony to a page following the OP of people listing other shit hapless politicians, and then saying pretty offensive things about them.

She is a bullying cunt.
Being a bullying cunt towards her does not make you better than her. -
• #65079
her bullying results in people live's being torn apart. some salty comments on a fixie bike forum isn't really the same thing, is it?

You can’t bully someone who is in a position of power and authority over you.
Speaking truth (or just being insulting) to power ≠ bullying -

Have we done Dominic Raab yet?
Dominic Raab in his own words

What a weird discussion this has been.

It's tough isn't it.
Is PP more harangued because she's a woman and a minority? How can you ever know? I mean she seems to hold more onerous views.
Oddly as I'm doing a mental list of the cunty Home Secretaries that spring to mind, most seem to have something like sex, race or disability that people are often prejudicial about.

I don’t know either.
I think the fact that her parents and I’m assuming other members of her family were immigrants to this country does put her heartlessness toward people currently in the same position in a fairly bad light, but that’s not the same as a racial prejudice.Did people especially hate Thatcher because she was a woman?
I don’t remember it that way.
“If we all spit together we can drown the bitch” may have a degree of misogyny in it, but the hatred was heartfelt.I will never forgive her.

I think this is where the Internet fails when it comes to nuance complicated topics.

You definitely can, which is why I’m not a fan of the word bullying as it conveys a stronger larger person abusing a smaller weaker person. Students can bully teachers, employees can bully managers, etc.
-
• #65088
Then those teachers, managers have lost their power and authority. Surely?
The stronger abusing the weaker is the accepted use of the word, isn’t it? -

Any cunt can bully any other cunt.

It is, which is why I think it would be better to have a different term for it. An adult raising a bullying complaint infers that they are or are perceived to be weak. From a mental health perspective that’s the opposite of what we’d want people to internalise.

Bullying is about power dynamics.
You can call it something else but it will remain what it is.My son has been ‘bullied’ at school for years (he’s changing school this September - hooray!) but he’s refused to be cowed by the other boy and his sidekicks and still gives it back to him. This made the school slow to see the dynamic for what it is, but it has also meant my son has maintained some self respect - a tricky thing to do in that situation.
The important thing is to change our attitude towards people who are domineering arseholes, after all, they’re the problem.

You can call it something else but it will remain what it is.I think we’re talking at crossed purposes somewhat. I’m not denying what bullying is or whether it exists, I’m saying that the word ‘bullying’ can be victimising and frankly insulting when used for adult interactions. Harassed is a better word, since it describes the same situation without the schoolyard connotations of bullying.

I have a friend who works in government who says this. Just an act. He should think about acting as an alternative career.
Fast and furious 12 starring BJ...

This is an old but very enlightening story on the subject:

Unfortunately is was his show biz career that really launched the mo fo.
I still blame Hislop.

Similar stories from acquaintances here - plus the laziness.
Plus one of my sister's old friends was in the makeup dept on one of the HIGNFY episodes where he was guest host. I am told he turned up to the studio looking normal and proceeded to mess up his own hair and tie before going on.

Definitely more than an ounce of truth that there would be no 'Boris' without that HIGNFY episode in particular.

We will probably have to agree to disagree.
I think harassment is a different thing. There’s a danger that concern over victim’s feelings will allow bullies to be seen in a less damning way.Bullies are shits, especially adult ones.

I think we might, because I also think the word bullying allows bullies/assholes to be seen in a less damning way. 😁

PC. Benjamin Monk. Found to have committed gross misconduct by a police disciplinary hearing, kept on the force and issued a stun gun.
Before becoming a policeman he’d been given criminal cautions for drunkenness and theft.
