  • I also doubt they even seen the bike let alone ridden it.

The one picture presented is probably from the supplier, with their logo photoshopped on and the rim decals removed. Black & white, and low resolution to hide sloppy editing.

  • TL;DR - we've been working with a volume bike factory to launch a new brand into the UK - LaVita (lavitavelo.com). Our first product is a 22 speed, 8.7kg all carbon gravel & road bike and will be priced at under £1,500.

Otherwise known as "shit I ordered 20 bikes on Aliexpress by mistake".

'How's it so reasonably priced?', we hear you scoff. Well, firstly, we've spec'd it with a Retrospec/Sensah groupset.

They did, not you, you're the one who brought 20 of them by mistake, remember?

The total lack of Shimano parts in the world means there's a genuine
reason for looking at new entrants.

You still need Shimano/SRAM parts to maintain it, that if there's no problem with the 3rd party components such as the shifters, otherwise £££ for a new Shimano one.

Secondly, we will go directly to market rather than through volume bikes shops. We are open to independent bike shops stocking one or two of our bikes as demos

Will it complied with EN 14781 standard? will you be able to offer warranty and guarantee? give us parts availability? have a customer support teams? cause bike shop will not have 3rd party groupset readily available, at most they can get MicroSHIFT.

I can tell you right off the bat a bike shop will not go for your accidental purchase of 20 bicycles from Aliexpress that you're gonna slap an expensive bar tape and make it sound French in vain hope to recoup your mistake.

  • Excellent work there, I figure that's the case, you just confirm this further.

  • I'm taking a piss, not royally tho
For me "UK and European manufacturer" claim on Insta did it

  • Also, don't forget my fixed rate fees on top.

  • Geometry is on the gravel/touring end.

..And we haven't even seen the geometry charts!

  • HOLD THE FUCKING DOOR.

    IT GOT A DROPPER!

Oh wait, it's a quick release seat clamp.

  • 'How's it so reasonably priced?', we hear you scoff.

Because it's literally an Alibaba bike with a sticker on it:

    1 - 19 Pieces
    $715.00

    Nice markup though.

  • I have a closer look and turn out the brake is a cable hydraulic one, I misunderstood his comment when he said cable to hydraulic thinking he meant "mechanical over hydraulic".

It look like a cheaper version of the already cheap Juin Tech one, ZOOM filled me with delight.

I like how it said "do not loosen it" on the calipers.

  • Just imagine how this would have gone down on here a few years back before everyone got more worried about building kid haulers and kitchen extensions.

@edscoble is raising some very very valid questions from an industry point of view. I hadn’t really considered anything past the product itself personally.

  • £20,000 kitchen now becoming a £20,000 start-up bike company.

  • You know a thread is getting spicy when @Tijs fires up photoshop.

  • you can easily forget this forum has the investigative skills of kpop stans sometimes

    lovely work

  • Was hoping this would last longer

    RIP Nikita LaVita

  • Even better it actually says "Do not loose it"

  • Merge with Orient Express thread.

  • We used these exact brakes on some bikes at work because they seemed to be the only ones in stock (usually we'll use Tektro). Turned out to be a huge headache, something like 90% of them are failing - that little red cap doesn't have nearly enough thread to properly hold in place and will explode if you apply a little more force - say, on a sudden stop for instance. Instant QC fail. Thousands of units being sent back now.

  • La Dolce Vita

  • They got thighs like what what

  • Stress for Nik@vita

  • Even better it actually says "Do not loose it"

Much better! couldn't see it clearly.

  • So to sum it up...as has been shown above, it's basically just another bike shaped turd being shat out by a factory shaped arsehole in China for next to nothing, which is then purchased in whatever quantity someone dares to risk, and tarted up a bit (a sticker and some bar tape)...then marketed as a gravel bike, but at the road end of the market, because it doesn't really have any of the on trend features to actually qualify as a legit gravel bike.
    Is that about right?

I believe the saying goes..."you can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter".

There are enough companies out there already churning out 'me too' bikes and products that offer nothing innovative or interesting...why start another when you could invest your money in something you can actually feel proud of if you put some real thought into it?
It might sound harsh, but this just smacks of another person trying to make money from rebranding cheap Chinese products as something they've actually put a lot of work into, when in reality you're just contributing to the sea of shit that has drowned so many independent bike shops over the last few years.
Ask yourself if you're really doing something to feel proud of?

If you choose to pursue this further I would suggest changing the name to 'La RyVita'...Bland, boring, and fucking hard to swallow!

  • Parklife!

If anything I’d have more respect for the OP if they’d just said ‘I’m looking to do a drop ship bike business, any pointers so I don’t get called out in seconds?’
