As has been pointed out already, anything involved in aviation mostly involves putting at least a couple of zeros on the price tag. It’s mostly because everything has to be tested and certified for use, and random samples of tools and components are taken out for testing. Aircraft electrical components are extremely high quality, and as such can be jaw-droppingly expensive.
I once over-torqued the head of a tiny Incanel bolt while installing a cover of a electrical junction on a engine, because I was talking to a mate and not paying attention. I went off to the store to get a replacement. £48. Eek. -
