Having dislocated a shoulder in a crash at HHV some years ago, I have no idea how you could carry on. I broke my elbow last year (shattered into fragments) and needed a titanium plate to put it back together, and it was nowhere near as painful as a dislocated shoulder.
Maybe there are different types of dislocation (partial or full)? They put me under general anaesthetic to put it back in.
