I don't think the £5k ones do anything better or different than the £500 ones tbh. The more expensive ones have just been tested against standards. Its more about ticking boxes for specified standards and consistency than anything else.
As somebody who flies on passenger jets, I find it quite comforting that this level of safety goes into something as simple as joining two wires together.
Can easily spunk £5k on a good crimp tool. The good ones apply so much force that the crimp fitting can actually liquify under pressure and effectively solder itself to the join.
