Posh crimpers are frighteningly expensive, but if you're doing lots of wiring looms (and discounting your own labour, which you probably are if you're building your own race car...), they will pay for themselves fairly quickly.
Can easily spunk £5k on a good crimp tool. The good ones apply so much force that the crimp fitting can actually liquify under pressure and effectively solder itself to the join.
