Anyone have a spare left yellow rubber walkable cleat surround that they’d be willing to part with? Not the middle plug thing but the surround. Mine fell off somewhere 🙄

Does anyone have experience with using ebay / Orient Express spindles?
Thinking of upgrading to titanium from ebay and was wondering if there are any recommended sellers / pitfalls to avoid, etc? Also I guess it would be good to know how difficult the operation is likely to be.
Cheers : )

It’s easy. I specifically went for ti ones with Allen key sockets on the end of the axel. Not all of them have them, just spanner flats.

I've got a couple of sets, I think one was Rockbros? Whatever they are they were the cheaper ones. It's a pretty easy swap if you've got a vice, just make sure you put the right spindle on the right pedal.

cheers both - sounds encouraging enough : )

I’ve used J&L in the past with no problems.

Just took my cleats off for a good clean - any advice on reassembly ie dry lube between adaptor and cleat? Loctite on screw ends and grease on shank??

Has anyone used the “repair” spares off eBay? I’ve now got 2 sets of Speedplay pedals where the left pedal has fallen off the spindle. I’d like to repair if possible….

Not sure what you're talking about but I've done bearing swaps with ebay parts.

No, I've got a spare right though!
I lost my left one a few weeks ago and ordered one of the ebay replacements. Ridden a few hundred km on it and it's been fine. Cost maybe £6.EDIT - actually I've just looked at the eBay left cover and it seems to have deformed a bit after less than two months' of use. It's still covering what it needs to but I don't expect it to last a long time now.

I’ve just switched to Wahoo Speedplay Zero and need a wider axle. Do the Speedplay spindles work? Or do I need to order the J&L Wahoo specific ones off eBay?
I enjoyed the cleat set-up. Great so far.

Pretty sure they changed the bearing format on the wahoo version to make them less maintenance heavy. So yes, you need the Wahoo specific axles. I have some J&L Ti axles which have been flawless.

Thanks. That’s great to know.

Does anyone have a red pair of Speedplay knocking around?
-
• #1316
Can you change the axles on the Wahoo powerlink speedplays? Anyone know?

• #1317
Does anyone have some titanium axles going spare? Standard speedplay length so 53mm...

I'm new to the world of speedplay so please forgive me for asking what may be a stupid question thats already been asked a thousand times but is there any way to cover up the unsightly gap between the speedplay cleat cover and 3 bolt adapter plate? The fact that the cover doesn't sit flush with the plate is really bugging me.

not sure if its still an issue - but when they first came out it took me about 6months to find someone in the EU selling them
-
• #1322
Yeah, cant seem to find anywhere that has them in stock but they seem to come with the new wahoo cleat cover sets. Bit steep at 25 quid though
-
• #1323
New cleats come with those as standard now

I've always wanted some of the one sided, golf ball looking pedals. Anyone got some?

What's the story with speedplay cleat covers at £25 a pop for 2 small bits of moulded plastic? I bought some cheapo ones from ebay but they fell off after a couple of rides. Are the £25 ones made of a better plastic or rubber that grips onto the cleat properly?
Am I mad considering riding without cleat covers? Am I mad considering spending £25 on 2 small bits of moulded plastic?
He made boat docks before Wahoo Fitness... can hear "hey Chip, you want a bud light" being shouted across a lake now
