I have this which is sitting unused but not unloved in my garage.
Bar end shifters, 8 speed, good wheels, rims not over worn.
Max tyre size though is about 25 with mudguards on,
Raleigh record sprint, Space shuttle edition. 501 tubing.

this for sure would make a great lock up bike but the tyre size stops it being the one for me, if only it was a royal or a randonneur!

If nice vintage is what you are looking for - built for 27" wheels so it will take 35+ (can take pics with 700 wheels on later today). 1950's frame, so rear spacing is 114mm, meaning easily stretches to 120 single speed, in fact came with 126mm rear wheel on.
Have most of bits for it if needed

I have just bought another pompino, much duller than this that's for sure (which i should have updated here about)
but someone viewing this should definitely snap this up! wow!

No worries. Would have come below half of your budget though

Would you be able to build this up as a complete? And what price would you be after? Asking for a friend looking for a smart vintage frame in good nick, looks like it could tick the box.

I sense you like a bit of vintage mixed in, so this is a good opportunity to get something very affordable to play with 🤓
Hello forum pals,
I would like a new lock up bike for the streets of london, what am i looking for you ask?
i think these are the core requirements i would entertain
