After eating at 10pm then getting to bed at 2.30am I somehow woke with the 6am alarm but did some house jobs before heading out just after 8am.
Decided to go via Poynton instead of Adlington- allowing me a taste of the spring classics with a
level crossing stop then a very short cobbled section.
I'd also decided to ditch Windgather and go via Pike Rd then head over the c&f for a short loop around the lanes there to Langley. A missed turn and a nice lane saw me almost reach Allgreave before thoughts of time pressure made me check maps and turn north again.
I dropped to Macc to cut a bit of likely climbing but the main road soon sent me scurrying to the lanes. Found one off the lower Cat but it didn't look roady when I got to it (Higher Fence Rd?) so I returned to climb more Cat to the next lane then home via Kerridge again.
Pretty much everyone waved back today.
Jersey quote spot on. Stats show I went too deep on one of the early climbs... #novice
