The funny thing is that the new AVR I got DOES support HDM2.1 and all, but NOT 120Hz [which will come in a future update).
So for now, even after the update, I still need to connect them to the TV directly :-/ But at least I now have eARC so all is at its best (proper Atmos to the AVR, full HDM2.1 VRR/120Hz/HDR/Dolby Vision to the TV).
Dolby Vision / 120Hz combo is not yet available to my LG CX, but it seems they're releasing the update later as they are testing it.
