My attitude is why risk your life and others with cheap parts, Febi are good as are genuine Bosch, a lot of fakes out there so always find a reputable supplier. I often use Autodoc, wait a while for delivery from Germany but good value & so far no quality issues.
Foxwell scanners you can read the codes but also useful is status requests were you can pull up live data, especially useful for temp sensors and speed sensors as some will not show a fault because they provide a signal but it can be a wrong signal.
What are the other faults you have?

Aye I’d never buy a mega cheap one, went Bosch in the end - happy middle ground price and a familiar name.
Will need to have another go with the scanner and make a proper list of what comes up - some things I couldn’t make head or tails of, parking sensor (classic), something about the coils and coil pack relay, maybe some others too. It was all done hastily just to see if it worked, need to have a proper sit down with it and note all the codes.
I’d have thought a serious error with the coils would give me an engine light or similar. Something to investigate (or ignore until it becomes more serious).

Good call. Speedy Cables are excellent. They made the custom push/pull cables for some of my kit cars. Very helpful bunch, and good quality products.

Ended up with a fake Gates thermostat and housing for a merc once from a local parts factor, spotted it once I tried to fit it. Bit of internet hunting and turns out they are fake parts in genuine boxes, mostly in the USA but this one was in Scotland. Took it back to them and they didn't believe me until they really looked at the part. Pulled another from stock and sure enough all of them were the fakes. They genuinely had no idea, and were quite embarrassed.

Best snow foam anyone? None of our cars are showroom quality, looking for 'strongest remover of mank' rather than 'gently loosens dirt but doesn't eat your previous coatings', any recommendations.

Done the search but not spoken, It will be interesting to see where they think the Pluriel will sit in the line up of unusual and 'collectable' Citroens.

The cables look like the same cables for a citroen BX with the sunroof mech in the rigid headlining.

Is there a simple fix for a worn bolster that hasn’t let go yet? I was thinking like some sort of hard wearing patch that could glue on over the top? Haven’t found the magic word yet.

Great, thanks! We're looking for a 7 seater variant so there's a bigger boot.
Anything to look out for? -

The usual, with any Japanese import make sure it's been undersealed and has a fog light fitted. Otherwise as mentioned, the engines are basically 1.4l Micra engines so all the consumable parts are pretty readily available. You might have to change the radio head unit since the frequency range that the Japanese one will pick up is no good for here.
Mine is brilliant as a general runaround/workhorse, and with the back seats down, it's like a little van. Plenty of room for a couple of bikes. Let me know if there's anything more specific you think of!

This has all gone out of the window now tbh, and whilst I like cars and am mechanically aware. The financial side to it has completely thrown me off.
Coming from motorbikes, this shit is all over the shop.
The hell is up with insurance quotes? How can they be that high? Am I losing the plot? 2 grand? Also, mini is on the cheaper spectrum!

Yeah if you don't have a car NCB history you're viewed as a 17yo.
What about your OH doing it and you as a named driver?

This is what surprised me when I started driving, I'm fully comped with all the bells and whistles for only ~$500... I even had to remind the person on the other end of the phone that I was over fifty and (at that point) had only been driving for a year...
