Also going through this thread has been an absolute treat. Thank you everyone for the joy you bring to the forum with incredible art. It’s quite a collection.

Good work, Al.

This thread keeps guilting me about not doing enough proper drawing (on paper rather than digitally)! I keep leaving my sketchbook lying around the house in the hope that I might actually do something in it….

Having a weekly class is what's motivating me. I'm crap at making myself to do anything more than mindless browsing in my free time, need a commitment to someone else to get anything done

Amen to that

These are all brilliant. I really like the top ones here - just the right balance of looseness and detail.

Live the top two ones too. Great work @brokenbetty

Thanks guys. I'm trying to get faces and hands at the minute. I can do bodies, faces and hands individually but not get them working the same picture. When I look at the pictures I've just done each week I always feel like they were worse than the week before, but when I look at them together I can see progression.

A bit of variation from naked people.... drawing carrier hacked out of drainpipe, can covers, gaffer tape and an old belt. I'm quite pleased with it.

Another "work in progress" (i'd better finish some of the others first, I know...). I call it "Fathers day 1976". Still in a rough phase.

I really like that. I’m not sure it needs finishing. It has a feeling that I can’t name, a bit like nostalgia but not. It’s like the distance that comes into a memory over time, or the distance you feel when you look at a photo of people you don’t know. It’s a scene that should feel intimate but doesn’t, like the people in the picture are politely waiting for the viewer to go away. (Maybe different for you if that’s your own memory or photo).

I'm with @brokenbetty love it as it is. Almost like a faded Polaroid pic.
When I arranged group classes at RHWL circa 2007
