Anyone bought a hand built wheel from SJS recently, just wondering what the lead time might be, as it’s clearly not arriving today it’s no real rush… but always nice to get a project finished!

I left 4 months ago; all wheels were being sent off to the builder in Wales? And taking 2-4 weeks. It all depends on how many wheels / trips they are taking to and from.

It’s just a pretty big standard but strong rear wheel for the back of my cargo bike to allow 11 speed upgrade… halo spin doctor hub, sapim race spokes and halo h2 26” rim…

I mean, that’s your call. Most shops probably have a lead time these days?

If it’s ordered probably easier to wait and hope it won’t take too long!

As if by magic, delivery due tomorrow…

Latest Thorn sitting around in bits waiting to find time/room/inclination to build. I think it might be nice.

There is an agricultural sort charm to them. I prefer derailleurs (£reasons) and you can pick up non-Rolhoff Thorns way too cheaply for what they are IMO. I really don’t need it.
