• What's going on here would be more obvious if I'd found time to photograph it from the side. That lorry is supposed to hold 2 cars, one behind the other, but this is holding three with the third car jammed on top of the second.

The rear car is supposed to be held in place partly by being chained to the support frame underneath it and also by a digger-style attachment that goes from the front of the lorry cab over the cab, over the first car and clamps onto the front of the chassis. Here, that clamp is holding the chassis of the third car, pressing it down on top of the second car. There are also ropes tied to the support frame and looped over the third car. So the second car isn't safely secured and the third car is barely secured.

Also, the rear wheels of the second car should be in front of the bar at the back of the support frame. But to make room for the front of the third car, the second car has been shifted back so that it's rear wheels are behind that bar.

As you should be able to see, the third car is massive compared to the car underneath it. The morons who lashed this together seem to have thought that would help.

  • I am stating the blatantly obvious but that is very dangerous - a call to the local police would have been in order. Imagine the carnage if a car had fallen onto someone - and I’m thinking cyclist nevermind pedestrians or other road users.

  • a call to the local police would have been in order

Which is exactly what I did, as soon as i got a bit further down the road and safely out of his sight. He might have seen me taking pics.
