Overheard at the LFGSS golf club bar

My wife has invited a bunch of her old school friends for lunch on Saturday. I had planned it all- pizzas for lunch and cake for tea. Tesco order made for ingredients etc. Have scheduled it all - two different pizza doughs, one takes 36 hours, the other 24 hours, baking cakes in the morning before people arrive etc etc.

Just been told one family intend to arrive at 8.45 a-fucking-m! WTAF and what I really need is to have to produce breakfast when I didn’t plan for it, buy ingredients etc or have people/children underfoot when I already had a busy morning of food prep planned. Additionally if my wife is having to keep them occupied/distracted it means all the other non food set up duties will also fall upon me.

Of course we can’t ask them to come later as they have booked non transferable train tickets. Am just waiting to be told that I am expected to pick them up from the station and that my car needs to be cleaned as it’s filthy.
