Bumping an old thread.
I'm really struggling with motivation at the moment, particularly at work. - Anyone else struggling too?
I find myself increasingly frustrated by people using Covid as an easy excuse, and there being seemingly no repercussions to laziness/people being shit at their jobs/people doing poor work etc. -

Yes. I think that the lack of interaction with people in the workplace is one of the biggest problems. We all give off and provide energy to others on some days and take it from others on lower days. I’ve missed this from the office. Also, it’s often easier to see the lack of effort when all the noise is stripped away. That’s not your fault, obvs. Maybe try a change of routine; an early morning 15 min walk, a new style of coffee, a quick bike ride, first thing, just some thing to shake up the start to your day.

Thanks for the reply and advice. It really is appreciated!
I’m heading away to the Cotswolds for a few days, so I’m hoping that a break will do me some good. I’ll give some of your suggestions a try also.
All depends what it's in the pursuit of - money, sex, improved personal hygiene, seeing the relatives more often, talking to the neighbours, corporate joy, getting a pet. Even getting out of bed. Each has a different rationale.
