Just a bit of a tale of woe. I have two of the cars that Top Gear have been stated as the worst cars in the world and feel really proud of the fact. One of which we looked for specially and bought the best example we could find. The wife drives it mostly and loves the ability just to turn down the roof as much as the weather allows. This one spent a lot of years in Spain and as a result is completely rust free. !
A bit of a disaster though. The top has started making some very bad noises on opening and as a result too scared to use anymore. It is quite a known problem and a couple of cables at £125 cures the problem. Except Citroen has stopped making / supplying them and they are unavailable anywhere.
There are only about 1700 of these cars left on the road and 34 of this variant the Charleston (leather, cruise, AC) and a colour scheme from the old 2CV.
It was never an expensive or valuable car, just unusual and quirky. Now though, as good as worthless. Just sharing for cathartic reasons
They are like windscreen wiper cables. A long screw thread, that pushes the screen edge of the top closed. Funnily enough like my A2 roof cables. Got a few ideas to look at and not yet examined closely. But will need specialised work.
