Ha ha! Any ideas why given your recent training?
-
• #1528
Must be a glitch, the values were much more reasonable a week ago.
That said, I always swap the Saturday rides for unstructured outdoor (4 hours in zone 1 and 2) which don’t get taken into account, so my endurance looks pap anyway.

I'm sure they use outdoor TSS if you synced your rides? My console definitely says "you have rides with no power data" or something and it shows the splits of TR vs. non TR rides in their TSS charts. This is on the website, I don't use the app.

They do for TSS, but I’m pretty sure I heard on the podcast that they don’t currently take non TR outdoor rides into account for training levels or AT.
-
• #1531
That seems a rather large oversight. I guess that will come later.
-
• #1532
Suppose it’s hard to quantify whether you struggled with an interval or not when there are no intervals 🤷🏽♀️
-
• #1533
That's the point of TSS though - to give an idea of work done.

I assumed they did, following a weekend ride that was quite different to what TR had planned I had quite a few adaptations
-
• #1535
Oh that’d be good. Maybe it was just adapting to you not doing the TR ride though…

Looks like you were correct - https://www.trainerroad.com/forum/t/unstructured-outdoor-rides-and-adaptive-training-progresssion/59307

Finally got the adaptive training invitation
And the link was invalid

Thankfully customer service sorted it out so can try it out. May also have a go at the pyramid training beta too.

with adaptive training if I go out for a ride on my bike without a power meter (so TR doesn't read it as a session) does that mean they assume i missed that session and then make subsequent sessions easier?

No, it'll only make them easier if you struggle with the subsequent session.

ah ok, makes sense

Ahh, it burns, it burns.

You know you don't need an invitation right? You just turn it on in the control panel experimental features thing.

I assume the Adaptive Training bollocks still doesn't take into account outdoor rides?
-
• #1548
I though the whole point of adaptive training was to take outdoor rides into account? The blurb on their last email seems to imply that it does.
I was tempted to move back to TrainerRoad from Sufferfest for turbo sessions this winter but I was hoping that the adaptive training would take other training into account as well like running etc but seemingly it doesn't. -

I suspect this is for outdoor structured rides where you're doing a TR workout. Don't think it's quite ready to deal with truly ad-hoc outdoor rides yet.

But on that, if you rack up loads of stress outdoors, it will reflect in your indoor feedback and AT will adjust your indoor rides.
