  • Did this one last year but started it from my house, tweaked a section to pass my dad's front garden and ended it in Cambridge instead.

    Route's really nice - some Sustrans bits which depending on recent weather would either be gravelly or squishy, but all doable on 28s.

    The fens were awful and I hated riding through them.

  • Nice. I'm going to try and do it in July/August all being well.

    The Fens is a funny place but strangely I always enjoy riding through it. Fenland Friends & Flatlands have been some of my favourite 600s.

  • I remember 1-2 'gravel' (bridleway) sections in the fens which got on my nerves as by that point I just wanted to point myself at the finish and tap it out, rather than have to think about not crashing in a drainage ditch.

    That, and the landscape basically not changing at all from Boston > Cambridge, and an unlucky crosswind the whole way.
