Interesting old Mercian ending tomorrow:
Someone has gone a bit Paris decal mad on this one:

I'm no expert on these two marques, but isn't it odd that the 'Mercian' appears to have bilaminate lugs, which I don't happen ever to have seen on a Mercian, whereas the 'Paris', a brand which went in for quirkiness including bilams, looks completely standard.
They both look perfectly good frames, but resprayed and with unattractive non period kit.

I thought the Mercian looked similar to this one:

I was going to put Paris in speech marks but just mentioned the over the top decals instead.
Agree re the paint jobs. Both look overly restored but interesting frames potentially worth a punt.

Keeler's frame seems to have conventional lugs, but in any case it was specially built for him (he was already a star in 1957), so it doesn't really tell you much about Mercian frames.
I note this 'Mercian' sold for a little over £220, which doesn't seem extortionate for such a quirky frame.

Great price and it seems there are Mercian frames with bi-laminated lugs

Definitely quite rare ones! Quite a score.

They look decent enough @SideshowBob however I've picked up a front wheel with a similar rim and I am in the process as we speak of de-lacing it.

Good stuff.

I've got dozens of Tubular rims, just let me know what you need.
I'll try and do a stock take at the weekend and post the results with images if there is any interest. -

I’m either looking for a 32-hole wood-filled Scheeren rim, or I’m looking for someone on here to take my 40-hole one. Nobody wants my 36-hole Fiamme rim and I have no problem binning that one, but the Scheeren rim is far too rare to bin.

I'm all good thanks, I was aware that @falconvitesse was hunting for a 32h Fiamme.

Beautiful.
It reminds me of early Gillotts

It does actually your right. Mark Stevens canary Yellow Gillott from 1951.
Love that bike and I too love this colour in fact I think it's inspired me to go yellow on my next be build. -

A Walkling with a lot of cables:

That's superb. I love the fact that it's been upgraded over the years with modern parts but still has an Osgear type derailleur. you would have thought that would be the first thing to go.
