I think KL is making an “they say he bought his own furniture” type attack, which does at least bag him some irony points.

I've made the golf club thread and not even for being golf-club-ist!
(Or have I? God knows I've been guilty of enough crimes to get here.)

Fair - although not sure to what extent the typical golfer concerns themselves with laundry arrangements.
I just buy new socks every time.

We had au-pairs for a few years. Kind of works, needs a big enough house.
-
• #1767
Aren't people who have au pairs just people who can't afford proper servants?
*turns up nose*
-
• #1768
If they had two, was that a pair of au pairs?
-
• #1769
Have to have at least 2, a single au-pair will get lonely and sad, and blemish your child’s upbringing.

Truer word something something jest... yes they are for people who can't afford a nanny.
Pretty sure nannies were the best part of £40-50k when I was a kid. Can't imagine you'd get much change from £100k today, so quite a few people probably fall into that category.

Dear Grand-mummy only employed English butlers, French maids, and Australian au-pairs at her country estate. * sips tea containing more scotch than tea*

Wtf really?! Is that on top of accommodation?
Mind you, I don't actually know what nannies do. Is it like childminder and private tutor combined? Or is there more to it.
Magnificent!
