I think 700c 45mm will fit, 47mm with 700c may be a bit tight.

5.9 GI increase is approx 20% of 29.9
10.1 GI increase is approx 10% of 110.6
That bit makes sense, still, I don't think it's much of a problem in actual use at the spinny end of the cassette going up some daft hill when your legs don't work, which is what I was trying to get at, despite being wrong.

I just found out that the Specialized Diverge can take 180mm rotors, as the mount is higher and you need to have it on 140mm adapter to run 160mm (flat mount).
Sadly not my Specialized

No, it is too good.

Took out retro-grouch SWorks this morning and there is no gravel in Norfolk, only mud in different stages of slip

nice red stem.

Also, your 2021 Diverge can run 180mm front if you flip the mount from 140 to 160mm.

Is this a feature now and not just a load of forks made to the wrong spec? 180 seems completely unnecessary on a diverge.
-
• #19838
A feature, I welcome 180mm off road when fully laden.

I've never lacked power on 160s fully laden with hydros, I did whack 4pot calipers on though. The cheaper diverge forks are shit anyway, poorly finished so really hard to route cables though with bits of carbon blocking the holes and the hole nearest the caliper is too close to the caliper so has a horrible bend in with cable brakes, I just assumed they'd got something else wrong too and the easy solution was to run the adapters at 140 with 160 rotors. Trek forks are much nicer with a proper internal sleeve for the cable, just pops right through.

Off to Dunkeld for a few days so have some road and gravel planned. Anyone got anything they think I should check out? Got the hermitage loop pencilled in already.
Hoping to get a spin on the road from aberfeldy up past schiehallion which should be a decent climb.

I've done these two road rides round there - both great:

Leaving London and moving to Oxford this week, can anyone recommend any decent road/garvél routes, in and around Oxford area?
I don't know it at all

Excellent, thanks.

I believe there is no gravel in Oxfordshire, or indeed the whole of the UK.

Highly recommend the Ben Lawers climb from Bridge of Balgie, & Lairig Lunn Road from Kenknock (opposite direction to @cozey's route, the surface is pretty gravelly). I did a loop taking in both in May, was fab!

I'd head out to Rannoch Station if you're doing the Loch Rannoch loop (Which you should) cracking cakes/views etc.

This from Logierait which is real close to Dunkeld just off the A9

If you climb out of the hermitage up into Griffon windfarm, the tracks are prime gravel.
You can then bomb down to Aberfeldy and link back up to Dunkeld with some small roads and trails.

@mi7rennie Cheers for the motivation mate, didn't know what to do today so went n smashed that out. The route I had planned went down to Aberfeldy then back up through the wind farm but by the time I had got up n over there was zero chance I was climbing back up.
The hikers path section down through the Berks aint great for gravel bikes but well worth it for the awesome water falls and Rabbie Burns bench!

Decent run!

The ridgeway and the endless sections of byway around it are all very rideable on gravel bike. If you’re looking for a local club, I’d highly recommend Cowley Road Condors (kit is questionable, but a very nice bunch)
thanks, I have a 2021 diverge that supposedly fits 47mm but Im not sure if it will be tight..
