You could actually ride a lot of the bridle way I’ve crudely marked up in red on a gravel bike in the dry.

The steep bit is steep, however.

I've ridden that. Can confirm steepness, I had to walk a bit.
You can access the park from the west: Cross the bridge over the canal just south east of Davenport Golf Club. There's a turnstile gate which is hard work but I got through.
