Anyone have any updates on Colombian race? (Am pretty sure it’s also today!?)

I enjoyed the french race earlier. I did think Cavagna would go into the road race with something to prove after his problematic TT. It was pretty obvious from the way he was racing that he was gonna go for a balls out attack at sompoint IMO, was surprised he managed to seemingly get away without much of a response as easily as he did!

Justin Williams wins Belizean champs!?!

Hopefully TJV do better with these national champs jerseys than roglic's dismal offering

• #35685
Looking forward to that jersey.

He likes a close finish!

Why was Evenepoel in such a strop at the end? If he wasn’t going to sprint, and I doubt he’d have won even if he tried, why did he not sit up and wait for team behind? Doubtful he was going to just ride wout off his wheel

Probably for those reasons. He got the finale wrong and lost. Must be infuriating when you think you should win everything.

Has he changed nationality? Was US amateur crit champ previously
-
• #35690
I heard on Tulsa Tough commentary that he has dual citizenship and eligible for the Belize champs.
Not sure if this video mentions the Nats thing but a good update on where Legion is at nonetheless:

Oh that's intersting. I though the UCI insisted dual nationality riders choose one of their countries and that shows on the licence code.

Cycling News wrote it up: https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/justin-williams-takes-belize-road-title-after-changing-affiliation/
He is very unlikely to win the US road nats so this was his best shot at a jersey outside of crits. But also great story for the Legion brand, too.

Good spot. Makes perfect sense for him to switch

William Fotheringham of the Grauniad reckons Rohan Dennis is going to win an ITT at the TdF in an article published today. Given he's not on the Ineos team, that's going to be a good ask. Good to see WF doing his usual phoning-it-in level of journalism.

Lol. The whole thing is shit but this really got my goat:
With more brief ascents approaching the finish crashes are inevitable as the field fights for position before the closing hill.
a) crashes aren’t inevitable and b) stop talking about them as though they’re a spectacle for the casual fan.

How many sprint stages are there? Could he do it?
-
• #35699
Yes.
But just one would be ok.
-
• #35700
One would be pretty sick. Chateauroux would be extra special
Jumbo have the Belgian and Dutch jerseys, is this something unique or something Quickstep have done regularly that I haven’t noticed
