I enjoyed the french race earlier. I did think Cavagna would go into the road race with something to prove after his problematic TT. It was pretty obvious from the way he was racing that he was gonna go for a balls out attack at sompoint IMO, was surprised he managed to seemingly get away without much of a response as easily as he did!

Why was Evenepoel in such a strop at the end? If he wasn’t going to sprint, and I doubt he’d have won even if he tried, why did he not sit up and wait for team behind? Doubtful he was going to just ride wout off his wheel

Probably for those reasons. He got the finale wrong and lost. Must be infuriating when you think you should win everything.

Has he changed nationality? Was US amateur crit champ previously

I heard on Tulsa Tough commentary that he has dual citizenship and eligible for the Belize champs.

Oh that's intersting. I though the UCI insisted dual nationality riders choose one of their countries and that shows on the licence code.

He is very unlikely to win the US road nats so this was his best shot at a jersey outside of crits. But also great story for the Legion brand, too.
